Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Week to all. It has been a bit since I have been able to share recipes with you. Getting ready for
Christmas at Patti’s and my mom had another fall. So all together it has kept me from my computer.
But I just couldn't let Thanksgiving go by without sharing a sweet, sweet recipe and wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving. This year Patti’s is closed on Thanksgiving Day so that we can be with our families at home. We are all so thankful for this.
One thing on my dessert lists this year, other than pumpkin pie, pecan pie and fresh apple cake, is pecan pie dip. Ya’ll, this is so
addictive, yet so simple to make. I just had to share it with you.
You will need cream cheese, whipped cream, like cool whip, not the can, powdered sugar, light corn syrup, pecans, brown sugar, vanilla, butter, 1 egg and kosher salt. Ingredient amounts are on the recipe card as usual. You mix your cream cheese, powdered sugar and whipped cream together, then spread in a pie pan or shallow dish of your choosing. Put it in the fridge to chill while you make the topping. In a saucepan, combine the chopped pecans,
butter, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring all the while. Then cook for one minute, again constantly stirring. Remove from heat, let stand for 10 minutes, then poor over your cream cheese mixture and serve.
Your family is going to love it and that is part of what Thanksgiving is all about. Being with your family, making memories, and being thankful for what you have and who is with you to share it. Enjoy every minute with family and friends and have a most wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
