Applewood Bacon Cheese Ball With Hot Pepper Jelly

Happy Tuesday All. I hope you all had a great weekend. It was another busy one at the settlement. We even had our first snow of the season on Saturday, which made for some great pics. Check out our Facebook page and take a look.

As I walked the settlement Saturday evening I witnessed not one but two engagements. This happens quite a bit at Patti’s. And each one is just as exciting to see as the first. Engagements,

weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements. If it is special, it happens here. One of the many reasons I love my job.

And another reason is getting to share my recipes with you and I guess I better get to that.

This recipe is a new twist on an old staple of parties and gatherings. The cheese ball will forever have a place at my holiday events. That’s why I like to change them up so people

never know what to expect.

For this one I chose to use Patti’s Applewood Bacon Dip Mix and Hot Pepper Jelly to add just little extra pop of flavor.

I used two packages of Applewood Bacon Dip Mix, 2 8oz packages of cream cheese, two chopped green onions, 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and 1 cup shredded parmesan

cheese and one cup finely chopped pecans.

I made an indention in the top of the cheese ball to add the hot pepper jelly. It just looked better to me as part of the cheese ball rather than in a bowl beside it. I used Stonewall Kitchens Hot Pepper Jelly. It has a bold, sweet taste that enhances the flavor of

the cheese perfectly.

This jelly is available at River Birch Mercantile at Patti’s and the Applewood Bacon dip mix is available at Yesterday’s gift shop at Patti’s and online at pattis1880s.com.

As always, I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do. It is quick and simple but a flavorful treat.

Until Next Time,

Bev
